Ghana Multilingual Bert-VITS2 (41 Ghanaian Languages + Ghanaian English)
End-to-end multi-lingual Variational Inference Text-to-Speech (VITS2) model covering 41 indigenous Ghanaian languages plus Ghanaian English.
Architecture
- Acoustic Model: Bert-VITS2 with Monotonic Alignment Search (MAS), Normalizing Flows, and Stochastic Duration Predictor (SDP).
- Phonetic Frontend: Africa-G2P (producing standardized International Phonetic Alphabet / IPA phonemes across all 41 languages).
- Semantic Conditioning: Multilingual African BERT (
bert-base-multilingual-cased/ Afro-XLM-R) 768-dim phone-level contextual features. - Discriminators: Multi-Period Discriminator (MPD) + Multi-Scale Discriminator (MSD) + WavLM Feature Matching Loss (
microsoft/wavlm-base-plus). - Sample Rate: 16,000 Hz, 80-channel log-mel spectrogram, hop length 256.
